Summaeverythang is a grassroots organization based in South Central Los Angeles and Watts, dedicated to nourishing and empowering its community through food, education, and sustainability. In neighborhoods historically shaped by systemic disinvestment and food insecurity, Summaeverythang provides fresh produce, mutual aid, and spaces for growth and collective care.





I grounded the design system in the themes of embedding, integrating, evolving, reusing, reclaiming, and recycling. Inspired by Summaeverythang’s commitment to fresh produce, I began with the banana as a central motif—a symbol of vitality and abundance. From there, I explored textures, forms, and layering to reflect transformation and urgency. 

  • Spray-painted textures → raw, handmade, and authentic, echoing grassroots action.
  • Negative-space banana form → symbolizes transformation and evolution.
  • Photo overlays with team members → emphasis on hands-on community work.
  • “SUMMA” typographic repetition → a flexible system adaptable to different initiatives (SUMMA this, SUMMA that).




    • The resulting identity concept captures the raw, nurturing, and grassroots energy of Summaeverythang’s work in South Central and Watts. It reflects their commitment to nourishment and transformation while remaining adaptable—designed to evolve as both the organization and its community continue to grow.
