P001 → 2024 Paris Cultural Olympiad Poster Competition
As part of the lead-up to the 2024 Paris Olympics and the 2028 Games in Los Angeles, Otis College students participated in an international poster competition organized by the LA County Department of Arts and Culture and the City of Paris. The competition invited students from Otis, ArtCenter, CalArts, and EPSAA in Paris to create posters celebrating the cultural ties between the two Olympic cities.
I was honored to be one of four Otis Graphic Design students that had their posters selected to be exhibited. The winning designs are currently on view at the Jardin Villemin–Mahsa Jîna Amini in Paris and on the City of Paris’s website. In Los Angeles, the posters are being shown at the Music Center’s Jerry Moss Plaza and in City Hall’s Bridge Gallery.
This cross-cultural project highlights the role of art and design in civic engagement and international collaboration. My poster specifically draws a connection between Paris and Los Angeles through the lens of street art, focusing on the global influence of the anonymous artist behind the Flash Invader game. By referencing the iconic mosaics scattered across both cities, the design celebrates how public art can foster playful interaction, shared culture, and a sense of discovery. It reflects the broader partnership between LA and Paris to exchange ideas around creativity and community in the lead-up to the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
